About
Of course, the stadium is home to the renowned Gloucester Rugby, whose history spans as far back as 1873. One of the Club's first matches was played on the current site of Kingsholm Stadium, after which the area was purchased from the Castle Grim Estate (hence the nickname for the grounds) in 1891. The site was improved steadily over the two centuries, until a major revamp was put into place (£6million) in 2003, with further extension to the stadium's current capacity of 16,500 in 2006.
This amazing stadium will be hosting some Rugby World Cup games in 2015!
