Be married at Hotel Tresanton and marvel at the astounding peninsular views of the Cornish sea, while engaging in the peaceful atmosphere of St Mawes, the surrounding fishing village. Upon exchanging your vows, you can gaze across the English Channel to Falmouth Bay and the impressively beautiful St Anthony's lighthouse; and so enjoy starting your love story in a perfect setting.
Hotel Tresanton boasts 30 bedrooms, a restaurant, a bar and even its own private yacht, all of which makes it a fantastic setting. You can choose to marry in the hotel itself, or, if you prefer a CofE wedding service, in the nearby 14th-century St Mawes church. Any size of reception can be celebrated at Hotel Tresanton, from small, intimate gatherings to much larger, expansive occasions.
The buildings now forming Hotel Tresanton, old houses located on different levels, were combined in the 1940s as a yachtsmen's club. In the '50s and '60s it developed into one of Cornwall's best-known hotels, loved for its ideal location and stunning coastline. In 1997 it was purchased and redesigned by Olga Polizzi, who also owns the incredible Devon wedding venue, Hotel Endsleigh.
Tresanton is excited to announce that for the first time they are now taking bookings to get married outside on their sea view Beach Club.
The large Cinema overlooks the terrace and is perfect for seated parties of up to 48 or standing groups of up to 100. The room is licensed to host civil marriage and partnership ceremonies, is also available for dining purposes and has audio-visual equipment.
The Bar Lounge enjoys the benefit of an open fireplace and is absolutely perfect for smaller, more intimate wedding ceremonies, even if it's just the two of you! It can be used as a private bar or lounge area for a post-ceremony drinks and canapés reception.
Civil Ceremony Capacity - 12 Guests
The delightful private seafront terrace known as The Nook will accommodate up to 48 guests either for drinks and canapés or for pre-dinner cocktails. It will seat up to 25 for a formal lunch, dinner or a barbecue, and can be set up in a variety of different ways.
Hotel Tresanton creates bespoke menus which are tailor-made specifically for each bride and groom. The hotel uses only locally-sourced seasonal ingredients, so you can be sure your wedding breakfast will be fresh and absolutely delicious. Hotel Tresanton offers a suggested children's menu, although a preferred alternative to this can also be created on a bespoke basis if so desired.
Your wedding guests can make full use of 30 individually-furnished rooms, some with their own terrace and gorgeous sea views.
Some of the accommodation options are extra-special, such as The Forte Suite at Rock Cottage which contains a wood-burning stove in the sitting room and a 'crow's-nest' terrace overlooking St Anthony's lighthouse; and Upper Tresanton, a three-bedroom suite with two bathrooms, a sitting room with dining table and a balcony with wide sweeping views. All residences have free Wi-Fi.
