Completed in 1510 and home to the Tollemache family for many generations, this Tudor Hall boasts a rich and vibrant history. While they are not the original gardens, extensive remodelling and redesigning, spearheaded by the current Lady Tollemache, have captured the essence of a Tudor garden.
Surrounded by a 400 acre deer park, parts of the garden far precede the actual construction of the hall. The shape of the walled garden, for example, has been discovered to be most likely Saxon in origins. Its initial purpose was presumably to protect livestock from thieves.
