It is a genuine pleasure to introduce the magnificent Hampton Court House, a prestigious events venue, filming location and independent school situated on the edge of Bushy Park, just minutes away from Kingston upon Thames. The Grade II-listed Georgian mansion and its splendid ornamental gardens make the perfect magical backdrop to any wedding celebration day.

Full of captivating elements, from rustling palm trees in the Winter Garden, or a heart-shaped lake, to hidden details such as the Shell Grotto, rabbits basking in the sun and more, this gorgeous Rococo manor is perfect for all weddings, from the most intimate family affair to lavish events for celebrities. The house is licensed to host civil ceremonies for up to 112 guests.

This stunning mansion was built in the mid-18th century by order of the 2nd Earl of Halifax, specifically for his mistress of the time! The house and gardens were designed by renowned architect and astronomer Thomas Wright, whose works include theorising that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is in fact disc-shaped. In the garden's Grade II*-listed Shell Grotto, also designed by Wright, you'll see his fascination with the universe come to life.

Today Hampton Court House is home to an independent co-educational school, and is available as a venue for events at particular points in the year, notably during summer months.

The Main House

The exquisite mansion presents a stunning variety of spaces in which you can enjoy your wedding celebrations, from the lovely Theatre to Main Hall, Conservatory, Ballroom or Dining Room.

Dining Room Ceremony Capacity - 150 Guests
Conservatory Reception Capacity - 100 Guests

Sunken Gardens And Grotto

Photo-opportunities and vantage-points for drinks receptions abound! Architect and astronomer Thomas Wright designed these delectable features, and the separately Grade II*-listed, shell-adorned Grotto could be perfect for stealing a moment away from the inevitable clamour and glamour of your big day.

In fact, the atmospheric Shell Grotto is available throughout the year, hosting intimate private dining parties of up to 10 people.

You are welcome to bring in and erect a marquee in the garden at Hampton Court House. Couples who do this could expect to seat up to 400 for a formal reception with the available space.

Catering And Accommodation

Hampton Court House has their own recommended caterer, highly capable of preparing anything from the most intimate events for two in the Grotto to large and lavish weddings in the Ballroom or a marquee. You are welcome to bring in your own caterer, but this is subject to an additional surcharge of £500.

There's no accommodation for weddings available on site, but plenty of hotels, guesthouses and budget motels will be found in the immediate area for all but the largest of wedding parties.
