Burrow Farm Gardens

Welcome to East Devon's premier 'Secret Garden' wedding venue! Situated between Axminster and Honiton, this 13 acre rural garden is awash with spring-like flowers; including rhododendrons and azaleas, and can provide gorgeous photo opportunities for bride, groom and wedding party. Burrow Farm offers brides and grooms the chance to celebrate their newly formed marriage in the heart of a quintessential English country garden!

The venue is wonderfully flexible, giving you the freedom to choose whichever marquee company and caterers you desire. Weddings are marvellously unrushed at Burrow Farm, and you are permitted in to decorate long before the event. Due to the lack of civil ceremony license, many couples choose to carry out the legal marriage register-signing elsewhere, before hosting an outdoor humanist-style ceremony with friends and family in the glorious gardens.

History

The current owners of Burrow Farm Gardens, Mary and John Benger, moved in during 1959 to start their very own garden and a dairy herd! John took on growing and nurturing the dairy herd, while Mary and their four children took on the task of transforming the Old Roman Clay Pit (now the Woodland Garden) and other areas into the spectacular gardens that you see today.

Over the 55 years of its existance, the gardens have gone from strength to strength. Officially opened for the first time in 1974, plenty has changed and many beautiful aspects added.

Facilities

Burrow Farm Gardens is a reception-only venue, however an increasingly popular wedding option is to have an official ceremony in a registry office and then a blessing or humanist ceremony in one of Burrow Farm Gardens' stunning outdoor locations.

There are so many spaces in the garden to enjoy, from the beautiful courtyard and terrace gardens around the house, to the Pergola Walk, the Millennium Garden created at the turn of the century, ponds, a summerhouse, a conference room and even a tea room.

Marquee Weddings

Burrow Farm Gardens provides a flexible event space, giving customers the freedom to choose whichever marquee they desire. The marquee area is adjacent to the Anniversary Garden, where 13 acres of manicured flowerbeds can be enjoyed.

You are welcome to use your own caterers at Burrow Farm Gardens, meaning that you can be completely adventurous in your culinary choices!
