History Blakelands Country House dates back to the sixteenth century when it was thought to be a cosy farmhouse. The original farmers cottage still makes up part of the kitchen today. From then onwards Blakelands evolved from a farm house to a large cottage with an extended Main Hall and Northern wing. It wasn't until 1986 that the house took on something of its modern image as a wedding venue. Then finally on the 18th May 1991 Blakelands saw its first ever wedding reception!
