Rumoured to date as far back as the 10th century, Avington Park originally belonged to Winchester Cathedral before Henry VIII granted it to a loyal courtier. In the mid-17th century, the house was enlarged and considerably improved with the elegant touches and classical influences you see today. The house passed through two further owners before settling with Lt. Col and Mrs Hickson, and it has stayed in the family until today.
Available and in considerable demand as a filming location, it has starred (literally!) in the Meridian TV series 'Great Country Houses' and featured in 'X-Factor' back in 2006.
