On the southern edge of the rolling Cotswold Hills, The Rectory Hotel is situated in the quaint little Wiltshire village of Crudwell and offers a tranquil and beautiful environment for a luxurious wedding celebration. The hotel enjoys a gorgeous location, set in three acres of grounds, in the Cotswold triangle of Tetbury, Malmesbury and Cirencester. As a 'home away from home' the beautiful hotel retains all of the charm of an old country house whilst being well-facilitated to host lavish wedding celebrations.

A bespoke weddings service is offered at The Rectory Hotel, so brides and grooms are welcome to adapt the venue to suit their specific requirements. The entire hotel is frequently hired on an exclusive-use basis, so the couple can welcome their wedding guests into their very own country house. For that extra touch of glamour, a helicopter could be landed onto the top lawn from where the bride can make her dramatic entrance, and can later whisk her off on honeymoon with the newlywed husband in tow.

A former rectory, this early 18th-century house was specifically designed with its large number of bedrooms to accommodate the rector's 14 children. Its notable previous occupants include Colonel Rex Osbourne, father-in-law of Sir Winston Churchill.

In the grounds is a Grade II-listed dovecote dating from the late 13th century, which is mentioned in the Nonarum Inquisitions of 1341 as an outlying property belonging to Malmesbury Abbey.

The house became Crudwell Court, and subsequently its name was changed to The Rectory Hotel, by which it is known today.

Civil ceremonies with up to 65 witnesses can be hosted in the conservatory, and couples can have a blessing in the garden. For a wedding breakfast, up to 80 can be seated in the dining room and conservatory, or a marquee can accommodate 120.

Catering And Accommodation

Head Chef James Dobson creates various tantalising wedding breakfast cuisines with local and organic ingredients. Menus are devised on a bespoke basis, meaning each couple is free to detail exactly what they would like to be served. However, The Rectory Hotel has sample menus to offer inspiration and outline the fantastic quality of food that the hotel can present.

The hotel boasts twelve luxury bedrooms and suites, which all contain Roberts retro radios, organic-conscious skincare cream products, a TV with a DVD player, and an iPod docking station.

Their most popular room, the Leckhampton Suite, is generally selected by couples as the bridal suite. It features a king-size bed, window seats, a sofa and a bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower. The hotel also benefits from an outdoor swimming-pool, making it the ideal place to relax post-wedding.
