About

This ancient country estate has passed through many royal hands, including Edward IV, Henry VII, Henry VIII and Edward VI. Following the demise of Henry VIII in 1547, his sixth and surviving wife Catherine Parr fled to Sudeley Castle with the love of her life Thomas Seymour, where she now rests in peace, interred in the beautiful chapel.

Parts of the castle were systematically destroyed by Oliver Cromwell during the Civil War, and the ruins now lie romantically surrounded by trees, flowers and wildlife.

Filled with a stunning selection of flowers and many old-fashioned varieties of roses, the castle's magical, colourful, award-winning gardens are some of the very finest in England, and present an ideal location for a delightful drinks and canapés reception.
