With exclusive use of the property, you can rest assured that your wedding here will be nothing short of spectacular. Restored to create a contemporary space, the manor still retains the aged grandeur of the past. Rockbeare specialises in weddings, and from the marvellous reception rooms to the mouthwatering dining options, you can be quite sure your celebration will be one of a kind.
Rockbeare Manor was built as a country house in 1760 for Sir John Duntze, a wool merchant and banker. Enlarged around 1820, it was the family home for the best part of a century until it was subsequently purchased by William Nation in 1859. Since then the house has been lovingly restored, now presenting a contemporary interior space while still retaining much of its original grandeur.
Rockbeare Manor presents a variety of different rooms eminently capable of hosting your civil ceremony and wedding reception.
The majestic Dining Room is fully licensed for civil marriage and partnership ceremonies, and can easily hold 100 seated guests.
Civil Ceremony Capacity - 100 Guests
If you would prefer an outdoor wedding, with the capability to seat many guests, the Terrace is perfect for summery ceremonies.
Civil Ceremony Capacity - 120 Guests
Ideal for larger gatherings, your entire day, from ceremony to evening party, can be celebrated in the spacious and airy Ballroom.
From delicious canapés to a show-stopping wedding breakfast, you can be sure that your entire day will be catered for with ease at Rockbeare Manor. After your ceremony is over, enjoy a drinks and photos reception, choosing from an array of meat, fish and vegetarian canapé options, or how about a miniature afternoon tea, garden party-style, with tiny cakes and cocktail sandwiches?
A unique idea for the wedding breakfast is the Barouche Menu, which offers wedding parties a platter to select from. Some of the platters include Italian antipasti, West Country treats, Spanish tapas nibbles or Persian delicacies, and this can be an ideal choice if you do not want to commit to just one dish for your guests. Alternatively, you could opt for a traditional wedding breakfast using either the Minuet or Regency menu. The chefs also offer equally delectable buffet options, always welcome at the evening party.
Once you've tired from all the dancing, you won't have to go too far to rest your head! Rockbeare Manor features 12 brand-new luxury ensuite rooms, ideal for your wedding night. Nearby Exeter offers accommodation of all types and styles for more guests.
